The collection contains 34 caricatures, mainly drawn in pencil, of doctors from the former Düsseldorf Municipal Hospitals and the Academy of Practical Medicine, which were founded in 1907. The caricatures were made on paper or cardboard and mostly framed in the Düsseldorf framing store Hanck.
The name of the doctor depicted can be found on the back of a corresponding frame cardboard, only 3 caricatures are not named; in each case the frame cardboard is missing. In most cases, the place of work of the caricatured doctor was noted with a letter under the name: 'A'= eye clinic, 'C'= surgical clinic, 'F'= women's clinic, 'H'= skin clinic, 'K'= children's clinic, 'M'= medical clinic, 'Pathol'= pathological institute. The majority of the drawings were signed 'E.S.' and '08' by an unknown artist.
