The University Archives, a department of the University and State Library, collects and stores historically and legally significant documents of Heinrich Heine University and the University Hospital Düsseldorf from the areas of research, teaching and administration. Documents on the predecessor institutions of HHU, the Düsseldorf Medical Academy and the Rhineland Pedagogical University, Neuss Department, can also be found in the University Archives. It currently holds about 500 linear meters of archive material, including about 300 meters of files, 50 estates, 6,000 photos, 800 posters, flyers and leaflets.
